Is Money your Motivation?

Posted by: Singapore Entrepreneur In: Business in Singapore

It still surprises me, the sheer number of people who start a business with the sole motivation being money. Often, not only do these businesses fail, but they also end up giving a very poor product or service to their customers to cut corners because all they want is more money in their pockets with no view of the long term. I don’t call these people entrepreneurs- I call them scammers who give real business people a bad name.

Singapore’s defamation laws are pretty stringent so I don’t think I’m able to call out these scammers online. I wonder if there is a site that does it, maybe masquerading as a non-Singaporean site sitting on non-Singaporean servers to avoid being sued. I’d like to add to that list so if you know of any, please let us know.

I agree, money should not be the sole reason, it should be something one is involved with, passionate about, knowledgeable about to sustain interest.
